Quintocanto Hotel & spa is located in the heart of Palermo, next to Quattro Canti, a crossing point between the most important places of the town like Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the “Kassaro”, and via Maqueda. The hotel finds itself next to the Church of San Giuseppe dei Teatini, a wonderful XVII century Baroque church. Corso Vittorio Emanuele extends from Porta Nuova to Porta Felice, including the area where you can see the Cathedral and the Norman Palace, the promenade at Foro Italico, preceded by the big Piazza Garibaldi Marina with its beautiful central Garden. Via Maqueda links Teatro Massimo to the Central Station, passing through the splendid Piazza Pretoria with its famous “Fountain of Shame”, and reserving unexpected surprises as the Church of Martorana.
Walking along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, passing by Piazza Bologni, you will reach the Cathedral, dedicated to the Virgin. It is a monument of great architectural interest, rich in works of great value and where Federico II, the most famous Norman king, was buried. A few minutes meters away, there is the Norman Palace. A sumptuous palace built by Arabs during the ninth century and then enlarged during the Norman domination. This building offers a beautiful view of towers and marble staircases, a grand hall and the mosaics of the Palatine Chapel, unique all over the world.
